Subscribing to a newsgroup
The fist step toward subscribing to a newsgroup involves finding the
name of the newsgroup you want to subscribe to. If you already know the
name of the desired newsgroup, you're one step ahead. If you don't know
the name of the newsgroup you want, you can search for one (or for as
many as you want).
To find and subscribe to a newsgroup
- In the Outlook Express Tools menu, click Newsgroups... (with
Macintosh, click the Sympatico.ca icon
in the folder list).
- Enter a keyword in the Display newsgroups which contain: text
box, or leave it empty and browse through the entire list of newsgroups.
(With Macintosh, the Display newsgroups containing: text box
appears at the top of the Outlook Express window.)
- Single-click the name of the newsgroup you want to subscribe to, then
click the Subscribe button.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 to subscribe to more than one newsgroup.
- With Windows computers, click OK. The newsgroup(s) you just
subscribed to will appear inside your Sympatico.ca folder.
