Getting images onto the World Wide Web
The World Wide Web is often called the multimedia part of the Internet.
Web pages often contain pictures of various types. Web pages can be configured
to display photographs, renditions of original art, clip art, and even
animated images. Sympatico members with personal Webspace can find out

on a Web page.
Images can also be sent to other Internet users using email. If you're
using Netscape mail, you can send an image as an Attachment. Here's how:
- With the Netscape Mail window open, click the To: Mail button
at the top of the window.
- When the Message Composition window displays, click on the Attach
button.
- In the Attachments window, click on "Attach File..."
- Navigate through your hard drive to select the image file you want
to send with the e-mail.
- Type in the recipient's e-mail address and a message.
- Click the Send button in the Message Composition window, and
you're done.
If you are using Netscape Communicator, here is how to send an image
as an attachment:
- With the Netscape Messenger window open, click the New Message
button.
- When the Composition window appears, click the Attach
button and click File.
- In the Enter file to attach window, navigate through your hard
drive and select the image file you want to send with the e-mail. Click
Open.
- Type in the recipient's e-mail address and a message.
- Click the Send button in the Composition window, and
you're done.
If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, here is how to send an
image as an attachment:
- In the Outlook Express window, click the Compose Message
button.
- In the New Message window, click the Insert File button.
It has the image of a paper clip.
- In the Insert Attachment window, navigate through your hard
drive and select the image file you want to send with the e-mail. Click
Attach.
- Type in the recipient's e-mail address and a message.
- Click the Send button in the New Message window and
you're done.
