How do I turn off graphics?

If you feel you are waiting too long for pages to appear on your screen, you can display only the text on a page (no images or pictures).

You can do this with Netscape Navigator 3.x by choosing Options on the menu bar and selecting Auto Load Images.

With Netscape Communicator

  1. Click the Edit menu.
  2. Click Preferences, then click Advanced.
  3. Click Automatically load images to remove the checkmark.

With Internet Explorer

  1. Click View.
  2. Click Internet Preferences, then click Advanced.
  3. Click Show pictures to remove the checkmark.

When you get a page in text-only mode, you will see small icons as place-holders for actual images. To return to the normal images mode with Netscape Navigator 3.x

  1. Click the Options menu.
  2. Click Auto Load Images again.
  3. Remember to also choose Save Options from the Options menu to save the change.
